The United States of Sharia

The United States is a republic based on the rule of law. Whose law? Our nation was founded on Judeo-Christian religious tenets. Activist U.S. District Judge Vicki Miles-LaGrange has overridden the voice of the people in Oklahoma today by overturning their state’s law banning Sharia or International law from consideration in court proceedings. Seventy percent of the voters in Oklahoma voted for the passage of this legislation which has now been rendered moot in another example of a politically correct judiciary working against the people.

Once again, we were warned about the judiciary “sapping, by little and little, the foundations of the constitution” by Thomas Jefferson:

At the establishment of our constitutions, the judiciary bodies were supposed to be the most helpless and harmless members of the government. Experience, however, soon showed in what way they were to become the most dangerous; that the insufficiency of the means provided for their removal gave them a freehold and irresponsibility in office; that their decisions, seeming to concern individual suitors only, pass silent and unheeded by the public at large; that these decisions, nevertheless, become law by precedent, sapping, by little and little, the foundations of the constitution, and working its change by construction, before any one has perceived that that invisible and helpless worm has been busily employed in consuming its substance. In truth, man is not made to be trusted for life, if secured against all liability to account.

Thomas Jefferson, letter to Monsieur A. Coray, Oct 31, 1823

So where does this leave us? The administration is serving up Socialism while the judiciary is serving up Sharia law. Congress “earned” a 17% approval rating for 2011. Is this the America that you want your children to inherit?

Court: Oklahoma Ban On Islamic Law Unconstitutional

An amendment that would ban Oklahoma courts from considering international or Islamic law discriminates against religions and a Muslim community leader has the right to challenge its constitutionality, a federal appeals court said Tuesday.

The court in Denver upheld U.S. District Judge Vicki Miles-LaGrange’s order blocking implementation of the amendment shortly after it was approved by 70 percent of Oklahoma voters in November 2010.
